The hit series Rick and Morty is back, and things may sound a bit different to longtime fans.
Adult Swim just dropped a brand-new trailer for the upcoming seventh season of the cult animated series, which gives fans the first glimpse at the new voices for the lead characters.
As many remember, co-creator Justin Roiland was dismissed from the show due to misconduct allegations, causing a major shift in the series, and he voiced both Rick and Morty. While the criminal charges were dropped, the studio decided not to reverse the decision. Though a new twist to the story, Adult Swim is keeping the names of the new voice talents confidential until the show’s season premiere.
It also seems like the series isn’t trying to hide the voice replacement, as the official synopsis references:
“Rick and Morty are back and sounding more like themselves than ever! It’s season seven, and the possibilities are endless: what’s up with Jerry? EVIL Summer?! And will they ever go back to the high school?! Maybe not! But let’s find out! There’s probably less piss than last season. Rick and Morty, 100 years! Or at least until season 10!”
The seventh season will include ten episodes, debuting this October. Check out the season seven trailer below…
