The Ring reboot finds its lead

January 18, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Paramount Pictures has found its lead for the upcoming reboot of The Ring, with The Wrap reporting that Italian actress Matilda Anna Ingrid Lutz (The Fifth Wheel, Someone Beautiful) has signed on for the project, which is going by the title of Rings.

Directed by F. Javier Gutierrez (Before the Fall), Rings will see the return of Samara and the deadly videotape (surely it would be on YouTube by now?), but will feature an entirely new cast from the original 2002 remake of the Japanese horror, and its 2005 sequel The Ring Two.

Rings is currently slated for release later this year.
