Shame and 12 Years a Slave director Steve McQueen is certainly assembling quite the cast for Widows, his big screen adaptation of the Lynda La Plante TV miniseries, with Variety reporting that Robert Duvall has become the latest addition to the film.
Widows revolves around the wives of a group of armed robbers, who team up to complete the heist when their husbands are killed on the job. The script has been written by Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn, while Duvall joins a cast that includes Viola Davis, Cynthia Erivo, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki, Daniel Kaluuya, Andre Holland, Liam Neeson and Colin Farrell.
Production on Widows is set to get underway in the summer. A release date is yet to be set.
