Having completed work on Netflix’s Hillbilly Elegy, director Ron Howard looks to have locked down his next feature directorial project, with Variety reporting that the filmmaker is set to helm the action thriller The Fixer for Paramount.
Scripted by Tyler Hisel, The Fixer “is based on the incredible true story of a disgraced FBI agent, who, at the height of the Cold War is tapped by the CIA to lead a ragtag team of CIA operatives and Chicago mobsters on an unlikely mission to try to assassinate Fidel Castro.”
In addition to directing, Howard is set to produce through his Imagine Entertainment banner, along with Bradley Cooper and Todd Phillips. The project is said to be a top priority at Paramount.
Howard last directed the 2018 feature Solo: A Star Wars Story and has Hillbilly Elegy set to arrive on Netflix this year, with the film featuring a cast that includes Amy Adams, Glenn Close, Haley Bennett and Freida Pinto.
