Marvel Studios has announced the latest addition to the cast of its upcoming Netflix miniseries Daredevil with Rosario Dawson (Trance, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For) signing on to appear as “a dedicated young woman whose quest to heal the wounds of Hell’s Kitchen brings Matt Murdock unexpectedly crashing into her life, while her own journey forever alters the course of his battle against the injustices of this broken city.”
“Rosario Dawson is one the most charismatic, talented and powerful actresses in Hollywood, so she was always at the top of our list for ‘Marvel’s Daredevil,'” said Marvel’s Head of Television Jeph Loeb. “Her role in the series is absolutely critical to Matt Murdock’s journey to become the hero we know as Daredevil.”
Daredevil is the first of four Marvel miniseries on Netflix that will build to a fifth, with the Man Without Fear joining up with Iron Fist, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage for The Defenders. British actor Charlie Cox (Stardust) is set to play Matt Murdock, while Vincent D’Onofrio (Full Metal Jacket) will appear as Daredevil’s nemesis Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. The Kingpin.
Daredevil is executive produced by showrunner Steven S. DeKnight (Spartacus) and Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods), who has written the first two episodes with Jeph Loeb (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.).
