Former Batwoman star Ruby Rose has signed on to star alongside Eva Green in Dirty Angels, the upcoming action film from Millennium Media which reteams Green with her Casino Royale director Martin Campbell.
As per THR, the film “is set against the backdrop of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021 and follows a group of female soldiers providing medical relief who are sent back in to rescue a group of kidnapped teenagers caught between ISIS and the Taliban.”
Along with Rose and Green, the film will also feature Maria Bakalova (Borat Subsequent Moviefilm), JoJo T. Gibbs (Fresh) and Rona-Lee Shim’on (Messiah).
“We are elated at how quickly this project came together under Martin’s leadership,” said Millennium Media co-president Jonathan Yunger. “The incredible talent that he has cultivated is a testament to the strength of his vision as a director. Alongside Eva Green, these actresses will bring to life an empowering and action-packed story that is both timely and commercial.”
Dirty Angels has been scripted by Alissa Silverman, and is set to begin production in December, shooting in Morocco and Millennium’s Nu Boyana Studio in Greece. Expect a 2023 release.
