A rumour suggests that Lucasfilm might be making a Star Wars project featuring Ewoks for Disney’s new streaming service.
When Disney+ arrives, fans can expect a whole load of Star Wars themed content to hit the streaming service. We already know that the live action series The Mandalorian is on the way, as well as a Rogue One: A Star Wars Story prequel show featuring Cassian Andor, and that the final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars will be coming too.
But what else might be on the way? Well, there’s that rumoured Obi-Wan series and now /Film is reporting about rumours about the return of the Ewoks.
The outlet says that the rumours are thin but MovieHole claims that a “reputable insider” is hinting that Disney is “secretly working on other Star Wars projects that’ll premiere on the small screen. One of those upcoming may feature the return of the Ewoks. It’s unlikely to be part of the first phase of Star Wars shows, which are rumored to kick off around Halloween, but could be part of the second run, rumored to launch in the next 12-18 months.”
Take this all with a pinch of salt, of course, as/Film has also pointed out that the report does not clarify if the project would be about Ewoks or merely feature them. Still, let us know in the comments below if you’d be interested in seeing the return of the Ewoks…
