A few week back, Kevin Feige revealed that Marvel “will be announcing a filmmaker in the next month or two” for the studio’s first female-led superhero movie Captain Marvel, and so naturally rumours are starting to spring up as to who might find themselves helming Carol Danvers’ big screen adventure.
According to We Got This Covered, White Girl director Elizabeth Wood has been meeting with Marvel about taking the reins of the movie. The claims follow recent reports that Marvel had also been talking to Emily Carmichael, who is best known for her short film work, which has been earning rave reviews on the festival circuit.
As always with these rumours, take them with a pinch of salt until we hear something more official, which shouldn’t be too long given Feige’s earlier comments.
Captain Marvel is set to hit cinemas on March 8th, 2019.
