Rumour: Felicity Jones’ Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One character the daughter of an iconic villain?

August 1, 2015 by Gary Collinson

As director Gareth Edwards (Godzilla) begins production on the first Star Wars spinoff, a new rumour has emerged concerning the character set to be played by Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything) in Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One.

The official announcement stated that Jones will be playing a Rebel soldier, and now notorious “scooper” El Mayimbe is claiming on Meet the Movie Press that the she’ll be the daughter of the fearsome bounty hunter Boba Fett.

Now, given that Jones is 31 years old and Rogue One will take place around twenty years after Attack of the Clones, where Boba Fett appeared as a kid himself (without any children at that point, we assume), there appear to be two possible scenarios here: either Boba has used the clones’ accelerated aging process on his daughter, or Mayimbe has been making up more Star Wars rumours to get himself headlines. One of those options seems a LOT more likely than the other…
