Just yesterday I wrote an article discussing which Original Trilogy characters could potentially appear in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story [read it here], and now a rumour is circulating which suggests that Darth Vader, Mon Mothma and Bail Organa won’t be the only familiar faces in the hotly-anticipated Anthology movie.
Now, the rumour comes from Reddit, so it’s by no means confirmed, although we do feel pretty confident that this one could be accurate, so turn back now if you want to avoid spoilers. You have been warned…
The poster claims to have had access to the end credits for Rogue One, and lists several actors and characters reportedly appearing in the film.
First up is Grand Moff Tarkin, who was looking to be an odds on bet, especially after this TV spot, and will be played by Guy Henry (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows), with “special thanks to Peter Cushing”.
No Star Wars movie is complete without C-3PO and R2-D2, and sure enough Anthony Daniels is allegedly listed in the cast however there was no mention of R2-D2 (perhaps with the passing of Kenny Baker there’s no longer an actor inside the droid, although Jimmy Vee is listed as portraying Artoo in Star Wars: Episode VIII).
Next is General Jan Dodonna, who was hidden away in the shadows of the first trailer, with Game of Thrones star Ian McElhinney said to have taken over the role from the late Alex McCrindle, who played the character in A New Hope.

Perhaps biggest surprise – and spoiler – is that Norwegian actress Ingvild Deila (Avengers: Age of Ultron) is listed as playing Princess Leia Organa (with “special thanks to Carrie Fisher”), and will presumably feature some kind of digital trickery, a la Grand Moff Tarkin. Alongside Leia, a Blockade Runner Pilot is also listed, which suggests that the film could end with the plans being handed to Leia on the Tantive IV.
The report also confirms our scoop from back in April that Spencer Wilding (Guardians of the Galaxy) is in the Darth Vader suit, although he’s one of two actors portraying the Dark Lord of the Sith along with Daniel Naprous, which was something we weren’t aware of at the time.
