Rumour: Marvel has shot a White Tiger pilot for Netflix

August 13, 2016 by Gary Collinson

File this one firmly in the rumour cabinet for the time being, but Bleeding Cool is reporting that Marvel has secretly shot four live-action shorts – including one based around the character of White Tiger – which are intended as pilots for potential Netflix shows.

The site claims that the version of the White Tiger character in question would be Angela Del Toro, who was introduced in Daredevil #28 in 2003; an FBI agent and niece to the original White Tiger, Angela embarked on a number of team-ups with the likes of Daredevil, Iron Fist and LUke Cage, and was also resurrected as a Hand assassin after being slain by Lady Bullseye.

It would seem unlikely that Marvel could actually manage to pull this off  in secret, without any word of casting or creative talent leaking out. Marvel already has six Netflix shows in Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher and The Defenders, and head of television Jeph Loeb recently stated that, “at a certain point, we have to be careful that we’re not becoming the Marvel channel on Netflix.”

Still, given the White Tiger’s ties to the current crop of Netflix shows, it’s certainly not beyond the realm of possibility that she could make an appearance, be it in her own show, or as a supporting character in one of the other series.
