Rumour: Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite updates will introduce the X-Men and more

November 15, 2017 by Gary Collinson

This past summer, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite producer Michael Evans revealed that Marvel had put the block on the inclusion of the X-Men as part of the game’s roster, as “maybe [fans] don’t even remember some of the X-Men characters.”

Well, if a rumour from Reddit is to be believed, that will be rectified with the planned updates for the game, which is said to include X-Men characters such as Wolverine, Cyclops, Deadpool, Storm, Psylocke and Magneto, as well as Star-Lord, Ms. Marvel, Daredevil and Green Goblin. On the Capcom front, the characters of Asura, Lady, Gill, Rashid, Captain Commando, Nina, Deis, Regina, Gene, Vergil, Akuma, and Apollo Justice are all reportedly in development.

According to the report, the first season two update will include Star-Lord, Ms. Marvel, Asura, Gill, and Lady, with a second free update following around the summer of 2018 and adding Deadpool, Wolverine, Daredevil, Akuma, Gene, and Vergil as free characters.

Apparently, the plan is to have between 50 and 60 characters in total, as well as introducing a patch to fix the graphics and art style to improve the visuals, as well as adding four-player 2 vs 2 mode, additional story content and a tournament mode.
