While the reports that Ben Affleck’s future as Batman is in doubt will likely grab all of the headlines before Warner Bros.’ big DC Extended Universe panel at Comic-Con tomorrow, we now have another potential tidbit relating to Matt Reeves’ plans for The Batman.
According to Splash Report, Reeves is looking to reunite with his Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes screenwriter Mark Bomback on the DC solo movie, and will be enlisting him to pen a new script. Bomback does have previous experience in the genre, having written the screenplay for The Wolverine.
Now, this rumour could well just be guesswork based on the fact that Reeves has worked with Bomback on two films, both of which have achieved critical and commercial success, and recently said that he was ditching the original script from Ben Affleck, Geoff Johns and Chris Terrio to start afresh. However, it’s certainly plausible that Reeves will be looking to bring someone in to help him with the screenplay.
Perhaps we’ll get some official news at Comic-Con tomorrow.
