Chalk this one up firmly as a rumour, but according to The Wrap’s Jeff Sneider on Meet the Movie Press, Disney and Lucasfilm are reportedly considering Michael B. Jordan for the role of Boba Fett in a Star Wars Anthology movie.
Sneider claims that Jordan could have potentially reunited with his Chronicle and Fantastic Four director Josh Trank on the spinoff, before Trank’s exit from the project. Apparently, Straight Outta Compton helmer F. Gary Gray had also been under consideration to replace Trank before he was confirmed as directing Fast & Furious 8.

Now, before anyone cries race change, it is suggested in the novel Star Wars: Aftermath that Fett’s Mandalorian armor has been recovered by Jawas post-Sarlaac, so it is entirely possible that someone else could take on the mantle of the fearsome bounty hunter. It’s also entirely possible that there’s no truth to the rumour.
