Although Lucasfilm announced the cast of The Mandalorian earlier this month, we still know next to nothing about the live-action Star Wars series, save for the fact that Game of Thrones and Narcos star Pedro Pascal is portraying the titular gunslinger.
Well, we may now have some further info, as Making Star Wars is reporting that Nick Nolte is set to portray an Ugnaught (those short pig-looking alien creatures wandering around Cloud City in The Empire Strikes Back).
According to the site, Nolte will be lending his voice and facial movements to the character, which has been performed on set by a small woman wearing a brand new state of the art practical animatronic mask developed by the Stan Winston workshop, which works on voice command to match perfectly with Nolte’s performance.

While we should treat this as a rumour until we get official word from Lucasfilm, Making Star Wars has a very solid reputation when it comes to its reports – including breaking the castings of Pedro Pascal and Carl Weathers – and so we suspect this one will prove accurate too.
After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
The Mandalorian is expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2019 and features a cast that includes Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones), Gina Carano (Deadpool), Carl Weathers (Rocky), Nick Nolte (Afflication), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), Omid Abtahi (American Gods) and Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man).
