With Star Wars: The Force Awakens just a couple of months away from release, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in production now and filming on Star Wars: Episode VIII set to commence next week, it’s no surprise that we’re being inundated with news, rumour and speculation from the galaxy far, far away, and today has brought word that December’s The Force Awakens may feature a post-credits stinger for Lucasilm’s first standalone movie Rogue One.
The rumour comes by way of Schmoes Know, and suggests that Lucasfilm will be joining fellow Disney subsidiary Marvel Studios in offering a post-credits scene or teaser to kickstart the promotion for Rogue One ahead of its release next December.
Should the report prove true, it would be the first time that a Star Wars movie has featured an after-credits scene, although it would certainly make sense for Disney and Lucasfilm to take the opportunity to raise awareness for Rogue One amongst the general moviegoing public, who’ll surely be out in their droves to see The Force Awakanes.
Although a standard teaser trailer could do that just as well.
