Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige has already confirmed that development is underway on an Eternals movie, and rumours are circulating that next year’s as-yet-untitled Avengers 4 could lay the foundations for the characters’ introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as MCU Cosmic is reporting that Kronos is set to make an appearance in the Avengers: Infinity War follow-up.
If you’re unfamiliar with Kronos, he is a cosmic entity who is one of the most powerful Eternals, as well a founder of the planet Titan, and the grandfather of Thanos. He is also a master of time, which links in nicely to the rumours that Tony Stark and company will be embarking on time travel in Avengers 4 as they attempt to undo the devastation caused by Thanos’ Snap.
While this report is unconfirmed at present, it should be noted MCU Cosmic first broke the Eternals movie news, while Thanos and Kronos creator Jim Starlin has also recently suggested that Avengers 4 will introduce another of his characters [UPDATE: Starlin has now taken to Facebook to clarify that he was misquoted].
Furthermore, a recent “leak” on Reddit may potentially support the claims, stating that “there’s a pivotal scene between Doctor Strange and a fully CGI character being shot on a secret location, with a skeleton crew, and which takes up a sizable portion of the budget.”
