The future of the Man of Steel on in the DC Extended Universe may be in doubt at the moment following the recent reports that Henry Cavill could be parting ways with Warner Bros. and DC Films, but it seems we may have plenty of Superman to look forward to on the small screen soon.
According to a report from FandomWire, The CW is set to give the green light to a Superman TV series, spinning off from the current DC show Supergirl with Tyler Hoechlin reprising his role as the Last Son of Krypton. Hoechlin made his debut as Superman in the second season of Supergirl, appearing in four episodes.
According to the site, the upcoming Supergirl, The Flash and Arrow crossover ‘Elseworlds’ (which sees Hoechlin’s Superman sporting a black suit) is set to serve as a “backdoor pilot” for a Superman show that would feature Hoechlin alongside Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane.
Said crossover is also introducing Orange Is the New Black star Ruby Rose as Batwoman, with plans for that character to receive her own show next year.

Should the rumour prove true and Superman make it to series, it would join a growing roster of DC shows on The CW which includes Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Black Lightning.
