Rumoured details on Pedro Pascal’s Wonder Woman 2 role, and returning characters

March 31, 2018 by Gary Collinson

With Wonder Woman 2 gearing up to go into production this May, news broke this week that Game of Thrones and Narcos star Pedro Pascal had become the latest addition to the cast of the DC sequel, and now we have some potential details on his character, as well as returning cast members from the first movie.

According to The Tracking Board, Pascal is likely portraying “a slippery conman known in the script as Rex”, which the site says is the only new male character in the sequel who could be described as a lead role.

The report goes on to state that Connie Nielsen, Lisa Loven Kongsli and Doutzen Kroes are slated to return as the Amazonians Queen Hippolyta, Menalippe and Venelia, while cameos from Ewen Bremner (Charlie) and Said Taghmaoui (Sameer) are also expected.

Addressing the previous rumours that Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor could return, the site claims that signs are pointing towards this being accurate. Quite how Steve will make his return despite his off-screen death in the first movie, and the sequel taking place in the 1980s, is anyone’s guess.

Perhaps he’s been frozen in ice, or the Soviets have been using him as some kind of brainwashed assassin or something…

Wonder Woman 2 is set for release on November 1st, 2019, and reunites director Patty Jenkins with star Gal Gadot. Also on board is Kristen Wiig (Ghostbusters), who is playing Diana’s nemesis  Barbara Ann Minerva, a.k.a. Cheetah.
