Other than having a top-notch director on board in Denis Villeneuve, partnering once again with legendary cinematographer Roger Deakins (the two had collaborated on Sicario earlier this year), and Harrison Ford returning as Rick Deckard, not much had been known on the sequel to Ridley Scott’s 1982 sci-fi masterpiece Blade Runner, but now we have confirmation of a leading actor.
Speaking with Collider while promoting his upcoming performance in this December’s The Big Short, Ryan Gosling broke the silence on rumors of him starring in the hotly anticipated sequel, or as it’s reportedly titled, Androids Dream.
Gosling mentioned that the aforementioned duo of Villeneuve and Deakins was too tantalizing to pass up. He also jokingly stated “there’s a chip in me and if I say anything more I’ll explode if I say anything else.”
For now you can see Ryan Gosling in The Big Short which is set for release on December 11th in the States and January 22nd in the UK, with a cast that also includes Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Brad Pitt, Finn Wittrock, Karen Gillan, Melissa Leo, Marisa Tomei, Max Greenfield and Selena Gomez.
