IDW Publishing has announced that Anonymous Content has optioned the feature film rights to Jeff Lemire’s The Underwater Welder, with Ryan Gosling and Ken Kao set to produce a movie adaptation.
The New York Times bestselling graphic novel details a man in the dangerous profession of underwater welding, who has a supernatural encounter at the bottom of the sea. Jeff Lemire will serve as an executive producer on the feature film alongside Chris Staros of Top Shelf and Ted Adams of IDW publishing.
