After having to halt and delay the rest of its production last year to the dual WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, Ryan Reynolds has announced Deadpool 3 has wrapped production.
The film marks the Merc with a Mouth’s entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Disney’s purchase of 20th Century Fox, thereby earning the film rights to the X-Men film series and its characters. The film also reunites Reynolds with Wolverine star Hugh Jackman, who haven’t shared the screen in an X-Men film since the much panned X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Reynolds took to Instagram to announce the news, revealing a new and slightly inappropriate photo of Deadpool’s suit in Reynolds’ typical tongue-in-cheek fashion, saying “The suit hides blood. Also sweat… But today, with Deadpool wrapping, it’s mostly tears. A giant and forever thanks to the cast and crew of our film who battled wind, rain, strikes and @thehughjackman… all under the stalwart leadership of @slevydirect. I got to make a movie with my closest pals and that doesn’t happen very often. See ya July 26th…”
