Hugh Jackman is set to hang up the claws after 15 years of playing Wolverine with the release of Logan in March, meaning the only time we’ll have seen his character sharing the screen with the Merc with a Mouth was in 2009’s forgettable X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Well, now that Fox has got the Deadpool franchise back on track, Ryan Reynolds is hoping to convince Jackman to delay his retirement in order to reunite the two fan-favourite mutants.
“I want Deapdool and Wolverine in a movie together,” Reynolds tells EW. “What we’re gonna have to do is convince Hugh. If anything, I’m going to need to do what I can to get my internet friends back on board to help rally another cause down the line. Hugh Jackman is one of the best human beings. Part of the reason I want to do a Deadpool/Wolverine movie is not just because I think the two would light the screen on fire but I genuinely love the guy.”
