Netflix’s upcoming reboot of Sabrina The Teenage Witch now has an official title. Series creator and executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa revealed via his Twitter page the show will be called The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and shared a new picture of lead star Kiernan Shipka along with the reveal. Check it out below…
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is based upon the Archie comic book series of the same name and features a cast that includes Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men) as Sabrina, Jaz Sinclair (Slender Man) as Rosalind Walker, Lucy Davis (Wonder Woman) as Aunt Hilda, Miranda Otto (Lord of the Rings) as Aunt Zelda, Ross Lynch (My Friend Dahmer) as Harvey Kinkle, Richard Coyle (The Collection) as Father Blackwood , Bronson Pinchot (Perfect Strangers) as Principal George Hawthorne, Michelle Gomez (Doctor Who) as Mary Wardell, Tati Gabrielle (The 100) as Prudence and newcomer Chance Perdomo as Ambrose.
The official synopsis reads:
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina imagines the origin and adventures of Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult and, of course, witchcraft. Tonally in the vein of Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist, this adaptation finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature — half-witch, half-mortal — while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit.
Though it has yet to get a premiere date, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has already been signed on for two seasons. Originally to air on The CW, its unknown if it will have any connection with Riverdale as the comics do.
