Lionsgate has released a trailer for Knights of the Zodiac, the upcoming live-action adaptation of the acclaimed anime series Saint Seiya and Masami Kurumada’s manga of the same name.
Directed by Tomasz Baginski, the film follows Seiya (Mackenyu), a street orphan who accidentally taps into mystical powers while searching for his abducted sister and finds himself thrust into a world of ancient magic, warring saints and a reincarnated goddess who needs his protection. Knights of the Zodiac brings the Saint Seiya saga to the big screen in live-action for the first time. Seiya (Mackenyu), a headstrong street teen, spends his time fighting for cash while he searches for his abducted sister. When one of his fights unwittingly taps into mystical powers he never knew he had, Seiya finds himself thrust into a world of warring saints, ancient magical training and a reincarnated goddess who needs his protection. If he’s to survive, he will need to embrace his destiny and sacrifice everything to take his rightful place among the Knights of the Zodiac.
Knights of the Zodiac stars Mackenyu as Seiya, Madison Iseman as Sienna, Sean Bean as Alman Kido, Famke Janssen as Guraad, Diego Tinoco as Nero, Mark Dacascos as Mylock, and Nick Stahl as Cassius.
Knights of the Zodiac arrives in cinemas on May 12th.
