Actress Sally Hawkins has dipped her toe into the world of horror before, first appearing in a 2007 genre film and then starring in the Academy Award-winning horror love fantasy The Shape of Water.
Deadline reports that Hawkins is using that training to topline a brand-new horror film from A24. She’ll star in Bring Her Back, the latest from filmmakers Danny and Michael Philippou.
Details on the film are minimal, with The Philippous’ infamously keeping their movies under wraps. This isn’t the only project in the pipeline for the filmmaker duo, as they are already working with A24 on a sequel to Talk To Me, as well as a documentary that follows them into the world of international underground deathmatch wrestling. They’re also attached to a new Street Fighter movie outside the studio.
2023’s Talk To Me stormed onto the horror scene and quickly made itself at home. The feature film debut for Danny and Michael Philippou ended its run with $92 million globally off a $4.5 million budget.

As for Hawkins, the actress is a fantastic talent. She’s received several awards, including a Golden Globe Award, in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards. She most recently played Willy Wonka’s mother in Wonka.
Production is due to begin this summer.
