Taylor Sheridan is set to reunite with one of his Yellowstone franchise actors for the second season of his latest series Landman. Sam Elliott, who starred in the prequel 1883, will star in the upcoming series opposite Billy Bob Thorton.
There is no word on who Elliott will play in the new season, which is currently in production. Elliott is a favourite actor of many with his recognizable voice and distinctive moustache. He won a SAG award for his portrayal of Pinkerton agent Shea Brennan in 1883 and other notable roles include The Big Lebowski, Thank You For Smoking, Justified, A Star is Born for which he was nominated for an Academy Award, andTombstone.
Landman is co-created by Sheridan and Christian Wallace, and based on the latter’s podcast Boomtown detailing the oil industry in Texas.
Set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas, the series is a modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of oil rigs. Based on the notable 11-part podcast Boomtown, the series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.
Landman features Billy Bob Thornton, Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Mark Collie, Paulina Chávez, Demi Moore, Jon Hamm, Andy Garcia, Michael Peña and Colm Feore.
