Samuel L. Jackson joins Travis Fimmel in sci-fi Inversion

November 7, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Variety is reporting that Samuel L. Jackson is in talks to join the cast of Inversion, a new $130 million-budgeted sci-fi from director Peter Segal (Grudge Match), which has Travis Fimmel (Vikings) and Liu Yifei (Once Upon a Time) also attached to star.

The film will revolve around Fimmel’s “street-wise American con man who teams with a young Chinese physicist (Liu) as they race against the clock to save the earth from a terrifying loss of gravity.” Jackson will play a senior Homeland Security investigator, who believes the two are the cause of the gravity inversion, and pursues them across two continents trying to stop further destruction.

Inversion is set to begin filming in February, taking in Berlin, Shanghai and Chicago. The script has been written by Paul Haggis (Crash), Bragi Schut (Season of the Witch) and David Arata (Children of Men).
