Back in May it was announced that Lionsgate and Chris Rock are joining forces to reboot the Saw horror franchise, and now comes word that the comedian is set to be joined in the cast of the film by Samuel L. Jackson (Spider-Man: Far From Home), Max Minghella (The Handmaid’s Tale) and Marisol Nichols (Riverdale).
The new film, described as “a Saw experience”, will see Rock portraying a police detective investigating a series of grisly crimes. Jackson will portray his father, with Minghella as his partner and Nichols as his Captain. It is being directed by franchise veteran Darren Lynn Bousman, who revealed on Instagram that production is now underway…

“We think Samuel L. Jackson and Chris Rock along with Max Minghella and Marisol Nichols make this film completely special in the Saw canon and we can’t wait to unleash this unexpected and sinister new story on fans of this franchise,” said Joe Drake, Chairman of Lionsgate. “This is next level of Saw on full tilt.”
