Samuel L. Jackson to headline Old Man TV series

July 29, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that Samuel L. Jackson is attached to headline Old Man, a new marquee drama from Jonathan E. Steinberg (Black Sails) and Warren Littlefield (The Handmaid’s Tale), which is based upon Edgar Award-winning author Thomas Perry’s novel The Old Man.

The series will follow a widower called Dan Chase (Jackson), “an average Vermont retiree with a dark secret. Following Chase’s involvement as a young army intelligence hotshot in a botched operation in Libya thirty five years ago, he went on the run, trying to escape people who want him dead. Just as he had begun to think he was finally safe, Chase finds himself again in the crosshairs.”

The project is being produced by Fox 21 TV Studios, who are currently pitching the series to the likes of FX, TNT, HBO, Showtime, Netflix, Hulu and Amazon, and have already received multiple offers from interested parties.
