If Sarah Michelle Gellar knows anything, she knows how to handle some bad guys on television. That’s why her casting in the upcoming prequel, Dexter: Original Sin, feels like a match made in heaven.
Variety reports that the Buffy The Vampire Slayer actress is set to join the Showtime/Paramount+ series. Gellar will special guest star as Tanya Martin, the CSI chief at the Miami Metro Police Department and Dexter Morgan’s new boss. She’ll star alongside previously cast Patrick Gibson, donning the gloves of Dexter.
“Sarah Michelle Gellar is a pop culture icon who perfectly rounds out our best-in-class cast featuring Christian Slater and Patrick Dempsey, among others,” Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios & Paramount Media Networks president of content and chief creative officer Nina Diaz said. “We’re thrilled to have her return to the Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios family and join the origin story of the Dexter franchise.”
