Sarah Paulson has been on quite the roll recently, starring in such critically acclaimed films and TV shows as Carol, American Horror Story: Hotel and The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, the latter two of which she earned Emmy nominations for in July, and, judging from a new report, it doesn’t look like she’ll be moving out of the spotlight anytime soon.
Deadline reports that Sarah Paulson is in early talks to join the already strong cast of Ocean’s Eight, an upcoming Ocean’s Eleven spin-off directed by Gary Ross (The Hunger Games). The movie has an all-female cast that includes Anne Hathaway, Sandra Bullock, Helena Bonham Carter, Helena Bonham Carter, Rihanna, Mindy Kaling and Awkwafina.
At the moment, it’s unclear if Paulson’s role will be as one of the eight women who attempt to pull off the heist or perhaps as the person they’re stealing from, similar to Andy Garcia’s role in 2001’s Ocean’s Eleven.
Ocean’s Eleven director Steven Soderbergh will produce the film alongside star and frequent collaborator George Clooney, while newcomer Olivia Milch is on board to pen the script. An official release date has not been set by Warner Bros. yet, but it’s likely that the film will be released in late 2017 since production will begin this October in New York.
