American Horror Story star Sarah Paulson has signed on for the lead in Run, a thriller in the works at Lionsgate, which reteams Searching director Aneesh Chaganty with producers Sev Ohanian and Natalie Qasabian.
The film, which has been co-written by Chaganty and Ohanian, will see Paulson playing a mother who has raised her teenage daughter in complete isolation. However, the young girl’s life begins to unravel as she discovers her mother’s sinister secret.
Chaganty scored critical acclaimed – and the Alfred P. Sloan Feature Film Prize at Sundance – with his directorial debut Searching, which starred John Cho as a father trying to find his missing teenage daughter.
The Emmy Award-winning Paulson can currently be seen in American Horror Story: Apocalypse, and has several feature film projects on her upcoming slate including M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass, Susanne Bier’s Bird Box, and John Crowley’s Goldfinch.
