Thanks in no small part to her role as Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Scarlett Johansson has become the highest-grossing actress of all time at the domestic box office, with her films having earned a whopping $3.333 billion in receipts.
In terms of males and females, Johansson is the tenth-highest grossing star in Hollywood history, with Harrison Ford having dethroned her MCU co-star Samuel L. Jackson following the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens to top the pile with $4.872 billion. The second-highest grossing actress is Cameron Diaz, who sites in nineteenth place overall with $3.032 billion.
Expect Johansson to climb even higher in the next couple of years, thanks to the two Avengers: Infinity War movies, which will hit cinemas in 2018 and 2019. She will next feature in the animated musical Sing, which hits cinemas in December, and will also be seen in next year’s manga adaptation Ghost in the Shell and comedy Rock That Body.
