According to Variety, Scarlett Johansson is in talks to join Reflective Light, a new drama from Focus Features, which is set to mark the directorial debut of art photographer Gregory Crewdson.
The site reports that the film is based on Carla Buckley’s 2014 novel The Deepest Secret and will see Johansson as the mother of a teenage boy who is allergic to sunlight. Her devotion to her son’s care has meant that the rest of her family has become alienated, as she creates an oddly sustainable nocturnal lifestyle for him at the expense of her own well-being. However, when a neighborhood girl goes missing, the balance that kept them afloat begins to unravel.
