Scarlett Johansson is in talks to join the Gareth Edwards’ Jurassic World reboot.
According to Deadline the two-time Academy Award nominee is looking to add another blockbuster franchise to her resume following her stint as Black Widow for Marvel, and is now the front runner to join the Universal Pictures monster-mash.
Rogue One director Gareth Edwards has been tasked with orchestrating the Dino-mayhem for a quick turnaround July 2, 2025 release, after Universal and Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Partners decided to stick with that date following the David Leitch’s departure from the project.
Universal will be hoping that the combination of Edwards, who successfully steered Godzilla to $500 million back in 2014, and the star power of Scarlett Johansson, will be enough to reinvigorate the the $6 billion franchise following the muted reception given to 2022’s Dominion.
The new movie is reportedly a fresh take on the JP IP, with the franchise’s original Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp is returning.
