Maximum Games and indie developer Rockfish Games have today released their epic sci-fi action RPG Everspace 2 on Xbox Series X/S and Playstation 5. Now console gamers can enjoy the game’s open world, 30 hour single player campaign and 100 plus hours of side missions. A release trailer can be seen below…
Everspace 2 will take players on a journey through a thoughtful single player sci-fi story where they will be able to explore space, planets, seek out hidden treasures, discover alien species and defend themselves against vicious outlaws. There are high risk/high reward locations to fight through for those adventurous and skilled enough to hunt them out.
Throughout the single player campaign, players will meet many characters with their own stories to tell, some may join in on side missions or may provide benefits to the endgame.
Space is far more dangerous than it appears and dogfights will be a common encounter but fortunately there are a wide range of weaponry and abilities that can be equipped. Enemies can be as small as drones or fighter crafts or as large as powerful gunships and capital vessels.
“With Everspace 2 coming to Xbox and PlayStation today, we’re excited to see console space game fans headed to the stars in our sci-fi action RPG. This adventure has been more than six years in the making, and from beginning to finish an absolute passion project for everyone on the team,” says ROCKFISH Games CEO Michael Schade. “The journey for Everspace 2 fans is not over. In addition to a free update coming later this fall, we’ve already started work on a sizable expansion to the game which will add more star systems, more story content, more characters, and most importantly, more loot to discover.”
PlayStation 5 players will be able to enjoy special DualSense controller haptic feedback, adaptive trigger, and speaker features that are unique to the platform. Meanwhile, those Xbox Series X/S gamers with Game Pass will find Everspace 2 as a title with the Play Anywhere feature. Everspace 2 runs at 60fps on the Series X and at 30fps on the Series S.
