Following on from the news that Bond 25 has been pushed back again and will now open in April 2020, The Playlist is reporting that screenwriter Scott Z. Burns (The Bourne Ultimatum, Contagion) has been brought in to work on the script.
According to the site, Burns will be “overhauling” the original screenplay penned by Bond regulars Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, and his contributions are expected to be such that he may end up given the first screenplay credit on the film.
Bond 25’s producers have apparently been courting Burns, a highly-regarded script doctor, for several months, knowing that the screenplay needs work prior to filming. However, Burns was tied up with his latest directorial effort The Report, and has only just become available. He is expected to spend at least four weeks working on the script before production begins in April.
