Henry Czerny (Mission: Impossible) is set to reunite with Ready or Not directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett of Radio Silence as the actor has been cast in the sixth instalment of the Scream franchise.
Per Deadline, Czerny will star alongside returning Scream (2022) stars Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding and Jenna Ortega, along with franchise veteran Courteney Cox, Scream 4’s Hayden Panettiere, and fellow series newcomer Dermot Mulroney (Hanna). Additional cast members include Jack Champion (Avatar: The Way of Water), Liana Liberato (The Beach House), Devyn Nekoda (Ghostwriter) and Josh Segarra (Arrow).
Meanwhile, after Neve Campbell revealed earlier this month that she had rejected the offer to return as the franchise’s OG final girl, unverified rumours are now circulating on social media which claim that Campbell has since reached an agreement to appear in a minor role, setting up her return to main character prominence in Scream 7. Whether true or not, we shall have to wait and see.
While plot details for the next instalment are being kept under wraps, we do know that the slasher sequel is set to follow the four survivors of the Ghostface killings from the previous instalment as they leave Woodsboro to start a new chapter. Set photos have suggested that the as-yet-untitled Scream 6 will be set in New York City, however, this is yet to be confirmed.
