Scream 7 is nearing the start of production, and the cast is beginning to fill out.
Deadline confirms that Celeste O’Connor will star in the film, giving Ghostface more victims to call and slash. Details of her role are still undisclosed.
Neve Campbell and Courtney Cox will return as Sidney Prescott and Gale Weathers. Isabel May is another new addition to the cast, tapped to play the daughter of Campbell’s final girl. Patrick Dempsey is also in talks to join the film, revisiting his career from Scream 3, and will play Sidney’s husband.
Kevin Williamson will direct Scream 7 from a script by Guy Busick. Williamson is best known for penning most of the Scream films, which he helmed build alongside the iconic filmmaker Wes Craven. James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, and Paul Neinstein will produce for Project X Entertainment.
O’Connor is best known for starring in a pair of recent Ghostbusters films (Afterlife and Frozen Empire); she’s also starred in this year’s Madame Web, A Good Person, the overlooked slasher film Freaky, and the Sundance drama Selah and the Spades. Per Deadline, she’s currently shooting the sci-fi thriller UAP.
Scream 7 will be released in theaters worldwide via Paramount Pictures on February 27, 2026.
