Despite struggling in the ratings, Fox has announced that it has renewed the slasher comedy series Scream Queens for a second season.
“It’s going to take place in a hospital and explore some of the most interesting medical fascinomas,” states Fox CEO Gary Newman. “This is something Ryan Murphy loves and had a lot of fun with on Nip/Tuck, and he, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan are going to infuse that sensibility on Scream Queens. ”
Asked about casting, Fox’s Dana Walden stated that: “Ryan definitely intends to bring some of the actors from the first installment back. I believe they will be the same characters.”
Although no further details were revealed, Deadline is reporting that Jamie Lee Curtis is expected to return, while she could be joined by Lea Michele, Emma Roberts, Abigail Breslin, Keke Palme and Billie Lourd.
