We reported last week some rumours of the cast for MTV’s small-screen adaptation of popular slasher franchise Scream and now we have the official casting news as well as its director for the pilot.
Willa Fitzgerald (Royal Pains, Alpha House) will play the role of Emma, who is described as a classic beauty whose life with the in-crowd leaves her estranged from childhood best friend Audrey”. The Audrey in question will be portrayed by Amy Forsyth (Torment, A Christmas Horror Story).
John Karna (Premature) will be taking the Jamie Kennedy’s pop-culture referencing role and computer whizz Noah, Amadeus Serafini (Oh La La, Hollywood Speaks French!) will play the “mysterious new kid” Kieran and Carlson Young (Premature) will play Brooke Maddox, the leader of the group.
Jamie Travis (Faking It) will be directing the pilot.
“We are excited to be in business with the formidable Weinstein brothers,” said President of Programming for MTV Susanne Daniels. “Scream is an iconic franchise, and MTV is the perfect network to bring this consistently surprising film to life on television.”
Original series director Wes Craven will serve as Executive Producer.
