Sean Bean has signed on for a series regular role in the second season of TNT’s post-apocalyptic drama series Snowpiercer. Details on his character are being kept under wraps.
Based on the acclaimed French graphic novel series and 2013 movie from director Bong Joon-Ho, Snowpiercer takes place seven years after the world becomes a frozen wasteland, with the remnants of humanity surviving on a gigantic, perpetually moving train that circles the globe.
The first season of Snowpiercer is set to premiere on TNT in Spring 2020, with a cast that includes Jennifer Connelly (Alita: Battle Angel), Daveed Diggs (Blindspotting), Alison Wright (The Americans), Mickey Sumner (Frances Ha), Susan Park (Ghostbusters), Iddo Goldberg (Peaky Blinders), Katie McGuinness (Dirty Filthy Love), Lena Hall (Hedwig and the Angry Inch), Annalise Basso (Bedtime Stories), Sam Otto (Jellyfish), Roberto Urbina (Narcos), Sheila Vand (Argo), Jaylin Fletcher (Saturday Church), Steven Ogg (The Walking Dead) and Rowan Blanchard (Girl Meets World).
Bean’s recent TV credits include The Oath, Medici, Curfew and World on Fire. He’ll next be seen on the big screen alongside Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight), Stacy Martin (All the Money in the World), Andrea Riseborough (Mandy) and Christopher Abbott (Piercing) in the sci-fi thriller Possessor from director Brandon Cronenberg (Antiviral).
