Sega has delayed the release date of the Mega Drive Mini in Europe and the Middle East by two weeks, now launching on 4th October instead of its initial 19th September date.
Sega announced the news in a tweet, stating the reason for the delay is ‘unavoidable logistical challenges’.

A Sega spokesperson issued this statement to Eurogamer:
“We are committed to a successful launch for consumers in all territories, and this step will ensure we can meet demand and fulfil all the individual pre-orders and retail orders in Europe and the Middle East at the same time.”
“Customers in those regions are still able to pre-order from participating retailers and those who have already pre-ordered will only have to wait an extra two weeks for their little box full of retro magic.”
The Sega Mega Drive Mini is set to launch with two controllers, 40 classic games and two bonus titles including Sonic The Hedgehog, Ecco The Dolphin, Earthworm Jim, Street Fighter II: Special Champion Edition, and many more.
