Back in October of last year it was announced that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are to follow up their adaptation of Preacher by bringing another of Garth Ennis’ comic books to the small screen, teaming up with Supernatural creator Eric Kripke for a TV series based upon The Boys.
Well, Deadline is now reporting that the project has found a home, with Cinemax officially putting the adaptation into development. The pilot will be written by Kripke, with Rogen and Goldberg set to direct.
Created by Ennis and Darick Robertson and published between 2006 and 2012, The Boys “is set in a time where most of the superheroes are corrupted by their celebrity status and often engage in reckless behavior, compromising the safety of the world. It centers on a CIA squad, known informally as “the boys,” whose job is to keep watch on the proliferation of superheroes and, if necessary, eliminate some of them.”
