While past results have been mixed to say the least, it seems that Seth Rogen is taking a stab at bringing a British sitcom to American TV screens with the news that he is set to remake the ITV2 comedy series Plebs.
Premiering in 2013, Plebs follows Marcus (Tom Rosenthal), Stylax (Joel Fry), and their slave Grumio (Ryan Sampson) as they go about their daily life in the cosmopolitan metropolis of Ancient Rome. A fourth series of the show is slated to premiere in 2018.
The remake will be produced through Rogen’s production company Point Grey Pictures, with Rise Films – the company behind the British show – serving as co-producers. As yet, there’s no word on any potential networks or cable outlets.
Rogen and his regular collaborator Evan Goldberg have been very active on the small screen as of late, producing Preacher and Future Man, as well as the upcoming adaptation of The Boys.
