Back in June it was announced that Russell Crowe is set to take on the role of Fox News chief Roger Ailes alongside Naomi Watts as Gretchen Carlson in a Showtime limited series adaptation of Gabriel Sherman’s book The Loudest Voice in the Room, and now we have word on additional castings for the project.
THR is reporting that Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy), Sienna Miller (Live by Night), Simon McBurney (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation) and Annabelle Wallis (The Mummy) have all joined the cast. MacFarlane will play Brian Lewis, former head of PR at Fox News, with Miller as Ailes’ wife Beth, McBurney as media mogul Rupert Murdoch, and Wallis as Laurie Luhn, a Fox News exec who became involved in an abusive relationship with Ailes.
The Loudest Voice in the Room will explore the last decade of Ailes’ life, as well as key events from his past and the sexual harassment allegations that led to his downfall prior to his death. It is one of two Ailes projects in development, the other being director Jay Roach’s (Trumbo) feature film Fair and Balanced, which will detail the sexual harassment scandal from the point of view of the women who were instrumental in bringing him down.
