Despite the fact it’s set for release in a little over 17 months time it seems that 20th Century Fox’s reboot The Fantastic Four is not quite ready to go into production just yet, with The Hollywood Reporter revealing that X-Men veteran Simon Kinberg (X-Men: The Last Stand, X-Men: First Class, X-Men: Days of Future Past) has been brought in to polish the screenplay, and that he “may be overhauling the script substantially”.
Chronicle director Josh Trank is attached to direct the latest adaptation of Marvel’s First Family, which is currently slated for release on March 6th, 2015. So far the script has passed through the hands of several writers, including Michael Green (Green Lantern), Seth Grahame-Smith (Dark Shadows) and up-and-coming scribe Jeremy Slater (Reawakening). As yet there’s no word on casting, although Miles Teller (21 & Over) has been linked to the role of Reed Richards and Trank’s Chronicle star Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale Station) is also in the frame for Johnny Storm.
