Meeting an iconic Hollywood figure would be daunting for many people, and it is often said that you should never meet your heroes. Well, sometimes there is no choice. When Alden Ehrenreich secured the coveted role of a young Han Solo, it was inevitable that he would have to meet Star Wars icon Harrison Ford sooner than later. How would this meeting go? After all, there was no indication — at the time — whether Ford was particularly pleased that his role was being handed to a younger actor.
Recently chatting with EW, Ehrenreich talked about meeting with Harrison Ford for the first time after getting the role in Solo: A Star Wars Story:
“I wanted to meet him because I just felt generally it wouldn’t be right to do the movie without some kind of contact with him, and I’m really glad I did. He was very, very supportive. And it’s just cool to have lunch with Harrison Ford.”
Not only was the meeting a positive one, but Ehrenreich reveals that Ford gave him some instructions: “He said a great thing when I met him. ‘Tell them I told you everything you needed to know, and that you can’t tell anyone.'”

That’s pretty classic dry-as-sandpaper Han Solo humor above, which is something that’s hard to emulate. Ehrenreich’s portrayal of Han has been one of the chief complaints, for some, after viewing the debut trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story. What did you think of the Solo trailer?
