After the release of the poster and confirmation of Colleen O’Shaughnessey returning to voice Sonic’s friend and sidekick Tails, the trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 premiered at the Game Awards with stars Ben Schwartz and Jim Carrey showing it off. “After settling in Green Hills, Sonic is ready for more freedom, and Tom and Maddie agree to leave him home while they go on vacation. But, no sooner are they gone, when Dr. Robotnik comes back, this time with a new partner, Knuckles, in search for an emerald that has the power to both build and destroy civilizations. Sonic teams up with his own sidekick, Tails, and together they embark on a journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.”
>Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is once again directed by Jeff Fowler and sees Ben Schwartz returning to voice Sonic alongside Jim Carrey (Dr. Robotnik), James Marsden (Tom Wachowski), Tika Sumpter (Maddie Wachowski), Idris Elba as the voice of Knuckles, Lee Majdoub as Agent Stone, and Colleen O’Shaughnessey as the voice of Tails.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is set for release on April 8th 2022.
